NASSCOM 10,000 Startup Creates CashNoCash.com

The demonetisation of INR 500 & 1000 announced on 8th November, has come as a heavy blow to the general public of the country. In a time when everyday citizens are faced with hours of waiting in banks and enduring long queues at ATM’s that end up causing complete frustration when they turn out to be empty as soon as you get to them, Quikr and Nasscom have launched CashNoCash.com, to help cash-strapped citizens.

The crowdsourced site helps users across India find the nearest ATM, bank or post-office to get insights on cash availability and waiting time in queues for cash exchange or withdrawal. Users need merely type the pincode of their area of residence or whenever they are when they are in need of some case into the site’s search box and hit the ‘Find Cash’ button to be directed to ATMs are still functioning. Cash No Cash highlights the functional ATMs with cash in green pins, the ones with long wait time and queues in orange, and out-of-cash ATMs in red.

The website even allows users to update real time status at each mapped cash point. It also offers users a chance to report this information back to the site thereby contributing to real-time updates at each mapped cash point.

Ashok Madaravally, Director at NASSCOM (with an office based out of Technoaprk, Trivandrum) said, “We have always been supporting of technology startups especially startups that are solving India’s biggest pain points. We are excited to know and support that the Hiree team, an alumni startup from the NASSCOM 10,000 Startups program is solving this temporary but nevertheless pressing challenge of limited cash being available in the market.”
