If you agree that life is short, then you should understand that spending the majority of it working to make money would not be a great idea at all. Working isn’t a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong when I say this. We all have to work. But the question is how many of us could enjoy what we are doing.
It is not all about deadlines, project goals and night shifts alone. It is also about having some fun and frolic over the highly sober nature of the work and daily schedule in Technopark. The Techies get to enjoy here the way any young folk of their age would wish to. The Technopark conducts a whole range of cultural events as part of its recreational activities. In fact, this mutuality in turn provides much to the productivity rate of the young professionals.
Tech-a-break, the annual event of Technopark community is something that every Technoparkian would wait for. Starting with a colourful rally, inter-company solo and group song competitions, the charm is added by the general/sports quiz conducted by Charu Sharma, fabulous Dance/Skit Competitions, elegant DJ nights, and a mega night with a celebrity singer. Famous singers like Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Benny Dayal, Karthik, Vijay Prakash, Chitra Iyer, etc., have already swayed the techies to their electrifying music. Prizes are distributed to the winners including the much awaited and envied Prestigious Company of the Year award during this occassion.
- Cultural clubs
The names say it all. Technopark has different cultural clubs and NGOs like Natana, Thejus, Prathidhwani, e-WIT (Empowering women in IT) and professional bodies who conduct programmes regarding film, culture and health. Most of the IT Companies have their own regular CSR activities. As the names suggest, these cultural clubs echo the vibrations of the youngsters and their zest to life and arts. They also organize caroms, shuttle, and lawn/table tennis tournaments every year freeing the people to the fresh air from the tasks they strive to meet in their tight schedule.
- Technopark Cricket League
Breathing its true spirit and vigour from the IPL, T20 etc., Technopark Premier League (TPL) has become one of the most sought after event in the campus. Nearly 130 teams from Technopark Units participate in this cricket tournament. It is held every year in Technopark Cricket Ground over a period of three months. The young champs of course say that they have much more in them than their sharp computer brains.
- Festival celebrations
It’s party time! It’s the time when the techies go exotic wearing their traditional Kerala saris and stylish dhotis. Onam is celebrated in grandeour in the Campus with Onam feasts, Atha Pookkalam Competition, etc. X’mas and New Year are also celebrated in fervour.
• Cultural and charitable activities conducted by the techies show the philanthropic side of these young professionals. Campaigns to save nature and so many other causes that matters the world are organized by the techies. After all what one has are time and the youthful zest to do something good for the lives around.
• Periodic seminars, Workshops and symposiums are often conducted by the companies. The companies in Technopark are concerned about the employees and to help them take a step further to make a positive change in their personal and professional lives.
