TECHNOPARK PHASE II
The ongoing development of second phase of TECHNOPARK in 86 acres of land is being carried on with two co-developers – Infosys Technologies and UST Global. It is developed as a Special Economic Zone. Infosys has already constructed two of the most contemporary platinum rated Software Development Blocks. It currently employs 4,100 professionals in Technopark. According to Mr. Shibu Lal, as part of phase III, the company would be investing another Rs 800 crores over the next few years in the campus. Infosys is currently in the process of constructing the 3rd Software Development Block and a Multi-Level Car Park of 8 lakhs sq. ft. Similarly UST Global which employs 4,000 professionals in Trivandrum is constructing one of the trendiest state-of-the-art 850,000 sq. ft. building in the TECHNOPARK Phase II Campus.This campus when fully developed will have 50,000 IT/ITeS professionals.
TECHNOPARK Phase III
Today, Trivandrum is identified as one of the top IT/ITES investment destinations in India with the advancement of TECHNOPARK. Phase-I and Phase-II being fully sold out, TECHNOPARK has already acquired 92 acres of land just adjacent to the existing Campus for further constructions. TECHNOPARK has also obtained formal approval for 27 acres of land for SEZ development. A one million sq. ft. built-up space has been constructed in the brand new campus. Land development, compound wall, internal roads, canal embankment, water and power distribution, sewage and water treatment plant, drains, etc., are progressing fast. Companies would be able to commence operations from this brand new campus adjacent to the existing TECHNOPARK Campus from May 2013. The 110 KV Substation for distribution of power for Phase-II and Phase-III has already been commissioned.
About the Builders
India’s single largest IT Building of 1 million sq. ft. has been conceived by internationally acclaimed Architect Hafeez in association with his consortium partner M/s Iyer & Mahesh of Trivandrum. The building is considered to be an esteemed project of this ambitious growth plan. The “gold” rated Green building inside SEZ area, a landmark icon for Technopark, is all set be occupied by the companies. The building has been constructed by M/s Larsen & Toubro, one of the pioneers in construction industry.This green building will provide Work Spaces, Incubation, Smart Business Centres, Covered Car Park, Food Courts, Recreational facilities etc.
Other Amenities
Other infrastructure requirements of the campus such as water supply, recent facilities for treatment and disposal of liquid and solid waste, wide approach roads from the National Highway By-pass, etc., is getting ready. There will be a facility to park 1200 cars in the first stage and the building is expected to provide work for 10,000 IT/ITeS professionals. Built-up plug and play space, warm shell and land are available for IT/ITES Companies. Land will also be allotted to developers for creating infrastructure for these companies on long lease basis and SPV routes.
A world class shopping mall, with the amenities for conducting conferences, multiplexes, hotels, etc., is planned in this campus. More IT space will be created under PPP mode.
Job Opportunities
It is expected that a large amount of job opportunities will be created in this campus providing employment for around 75,000 people. Travelling beyond the conventions, TECHNOPARK is all set to mark a chronicle of its own.
