The second edition of the short film festival for techie film-makers at Technopark, Qisa 2013, is slated to be held on December 14 at Travancore Hall of Park Centre.
The festival is being conducted to provide a platform for techie film-makers and film enthusiasts to explore short cinema. The festival is being organised by Prathidhwani, the socio-cultural organisation of Technopark employees.
It is mandatory that the director and screenwriter are employees of Technopark. A judging panel headed by film critic M F Thomas with writer and film critic Sulochana Ram Mohan and writer and columnist Vinu Abraham as members will review the films. The best films and artistes will be honoured with cash prizes and mementos by celebrities from the film industry on December 18. The best movies will be screened for the audience on the same day again and award ceremony will be followed by cultural events.
Films of duration not less than two minutes and not more than 45 minutes, in any genre or language produced after September 1, 2011 and subtitled in English can be sent. If the film is in English or Malayalam, it need not be subtitled. All films must be submitted in DVD for consideration of the selection committee, before November 30. Selected films will be announced by December 7. The original film may be produced in 35 mm, 16 mm, HD, DIGI BETA, BETA SP, U-MATIC, DV, DVD, but the film must be available on DVD for presentation or preview purpose.
The best short film will get a purse of Rs 11,111, second best film best director and best script Rs 5,555 each. Registration fees for each film is Rs 500. The DVD, along with the registration fee, can be submitted to Prathidhwani representatives directly.
