A unique role model of well-advanced solid waste management system, Credai is been accepted and appreciated by Technopark and joins its motto “Lets live green and clean for a better tomorrow.” The inauguration of solid waste management plant, Credai clean city movement, will be held at Technopark, Trivandrum on 30th September 2015 at 4 PM by Minister for IT and Industries P.K. Kunhalikutty and Minister for Urban Development and Minority Welfares, Manjalamkuzhi Ali.
The programme was initially conceptualized as a community social responsibility programme through scientific method of collecting and post-accumulating steps. Biodegradable and non-bio degradable wastes are collected separately in two different cans from each apartment and are removed by a team of housekeeping staffs employed by Credai.
The accumulated wastes are deposited in specially made bio bin systems that are situated on the terraces of each apartment block. The bio bins, which already contain processed bio bin manicure, act as catalysts in processing the newly deposited waste. Bio culture is sprayed on the waste and mixed with the old composed waste to get a uniform proper composition of wastes. The decomposed wastes are packed and given to same apartment as fertilizers for gardening. Non-biodegradable wastes are segregated and shredded into tiny granules using shredding machine and when required heated and used for road tarring.
Credai has attracted numerous prestigious awards and accredits like award for best environmental programme, best technology etc. Technopark proudly joins hand with this much trusted and practical method of managing its wastes. The greenest IT hub in the world here stands as an exemplary with its noble steps towards a better and hygienic living, keeping its campus evergreen and lovely.
