Technopark was conferred the second place in the State Planning Board’s awards for best performance in plan implementation in 2014 at a function held at the city on Monday.
The IT Park has secured the second rank under category (II) for the timely monitoring and completion of its projects. Category (II) includes departments and implementing agencies which have a budget allocation of Rs 10-100 crores. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and citation. This is the inaugural award instituted by the State Planning Board to recognize the most efficient agencies in fund utilisation. The parameters lay down for the award included Plan Governance, Physical achievement, Innovation, Centrally sponsored and other Schemes.
Minister for Finance Law and Housing Shri K M Mani presented the award to Shri K G Girish Babu, CEO Technopark, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy. Minister for Rural Development, Planning, Norka and Culture, Shri K C Joseph; Minister for Industries, Information Technology and Urban Affair, Shri P K Kunhalikutty; State Planning Board Vice Chairman and former Central Cabinet Secretary Shri K M Chandrasekhar and Principal Secretary to the department of IT and Industries Shri PH Kurien were also present at the function.
