Technopark, Trivandrum, is poised to become the biggest IT park in the country. Technopark’s Phase III is in its final stages of completion, and will be commissioned soon.

Further development on land allocated to private companies is under way. The work is expected to be completed within 18 months. The 92-acre campus now has the twin towers Aanamudi and Ponmudi ready for occupation.

A smart business centre covers three floors. Two of the storeys of the centre in the furnished and gold-rated green building have been allotted to 22 IT companies, and one more storey will be made available to firms.

The third phase is being developed as both a Special Economic Zone and a Non-Special Economic Zone. Shopping malls, commercial complex, executive hotel facilities, star hotel convention centre, and a multiplex are the centres of attraction in Phase III.

“Once Phase III is fully operational, Technopark will have a total of 7.1 million square feet of built-up area (Phase I, Phase II, Phase III, and the building at Kollam Technopark inclusive), making the park the biggest IT park in the country,” Technopark Chief Executive K.G. Girish Babu said.

“To have a direct access to the commercial complex and other facilities in Technopark Phase III, there is a special passage connecting from the National Highway. The smart business centre to be set up in the third phase is aimed at attracting youngsters for their entrepreneurial ventures,” Technopark’s Senior Business Development Manager M. Vasudevan said.
