Kerala Government announces e-Governance Awards for 2010-13

On November 10th, the Kerala State e-Governance Awards, instituted by the Kerala Government in recognition of IT enabled citizen-centric services and projects that have improved the quality of service delivery, for the years 2010 and 2011-13 were announced. Awards have been given under various categories of e-Governance Leader, e-Citizen Delivery, m-Governance, e-Learning, e-Procurement, Local Language Content Development, Best Website, Best Akshaya Centre, Social Media & e-Governance, and best e-Governed District.

In the Web-enabled services including web payment category, Kudumbashree Mission won the first prize followed by Information Kerala Mission (IKM) for 2010.For e-Citizen Services, the Department of Civil Supplies got the first prize, with the Roads & Bridges Development Corporation as runner up for 2010. For 2011-13, Kerala Water Authority won the first prize and St. Theresa’s College got the Special Jury Award.

For e-Learning, the Directorate of Technical Education won first prize and State Institute of Education Technology, second for 2010. Kerala Agriculture University got first and IIITM-K, second for 2011-13.For e-Procurement, the Directorate of Ports won the first prize for 2010. Kerala Feeds got first and Malabar Cements, KTDFC, second for 2011-13. Idukki, followed by Palakkad, were the best e-Governed Districts for 2011-13.

Chief Minister, Shri Oommen Chandy will present the awards on November 12, 2014 at a function to be held at the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) in Thiruvananthapuram. Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty will preside.The Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) and IMG were the nodal agency for the e-Governance Awards selection. Jose Cyriac IAS (Rtd.) and Anand Parthasarathy, Senior IT Journalist were among the jury members.
