Something unusual and rare has happened at Technopark Trivandrum on the last day. The daily chores, responsibilities, tensions of employees were taken away by the magical events occurred on October 7th 2014 at Technopark. Anyone would be surprised to witness your boss or CEOs moving their legs and hips to rocking music. And along with this, who will miss a chance to bash their CEOs? DaanUtsav paved the way and opportunity for these rare moments at Technopark. CEOs’ of around 30 companies with the IT boss Technopark CEO Mr. K.G.Girish Babu stepped out of their boardrooms and broke out their dance moves to thundering music. The large crowd of employees gathered at Bhavani building couldn’t stop cheering and supporting them. The flashmob first of its kind was organized for a noble cause as a part of DaanUtsav, India’s festival of giving.
The ‘Joy of Giving’ was spread all over at Technopark through another event called CEO bashing. The major attraction of that day was the wonderful opportunity to bash CEOs of IT companies sitting on a chair giving their employees the opportunity to take a shot at them for 100 rupees per throw. Employees took a shot at them with a sponge ball soaked in water. The proceeds would go for charity. “We wanted to attract the attention of all of the 45,000 plus employees in Technopark, to this noble cause, the reason CEOs themselves hit the dance floor. I hope the message of ‘Joy of Giving’ is embraced by the larger society too’, says Mr. K G Girish Babu, Chief Executive Office, Technopark. DaanUtsav is introduced at Kerala by Gtech along with Technopark to the IT community for the joy of giving and some fund-raising programmes. “This is a fun and spirited way of raising funds for a noble cause. The response to all activities has been overwhelming and shows that the IT workers will go all out to support the needy. All CSR initiatives of GTech have been very well received by the community,” said Mr. Anoop P Ambika, Secretary, GTech. Techies had a different and new experience of witnessing the rare moments of bashing and flashmob of their CEOs at Technopark. DaanUtsav made Technopark more lively and all went “on cloud nine.”
